What Aerial Yoga Taught Me

I went to Costa Rica to learn aerial yoga.

I stayed at Anamaya in Montezuma, and I came home with more than training.

I came home with friends.

One night, we were supposed to go on a bioluminescent tour. We arrived by boat on this beach, and as soon as we got there, it started storming.

Plans changed fast.

Instead of the tour, we ended up circled around a man playing an instrument, drinking margaritas, and waiting for the storm to pass.

And somehow, that became the memory.

We were wet, waiting, laughing, and still breathing.

A bus was sent to come get us, and by the end of it, we had bonded in a way I didn’t expect. We still keep in touch today.

That trip taught me aerial yoga, but it also taught me something bigger.

Yoga is not just the pose.

It’s how you breathe when the plan changes.

It’s how you stay present when the storm rolls in.

It’s how strangers can become friends when everyone softens a little and lets the moment be what it is.

Since that trip, aerial yoga has become something I love practicing at home and something I’m excited to keep sharing through Let Go & Breathe Yoga.

I love the way the hammock supports you. It asks you to trust, soften, strengthen, and let go.

That’s also why I’m including a floating aerial yoga sound bath experience at the fall retreat.

Because sometimes being held, even for a little while, is exactly what our bodies need.

Costa Rica gave me training, friendships, and a reminder I still carry:

Some of the best moments happen when nothing goes as planned.

Question:
Have you ever had a changed plan turn into the best memory?
