What I Wish People Knew About Yoga

I wish people knew yoga isn’t about being flexible.

It isn’t about doing the hardest pose or looking perfect on a mat.

Yoga is learning how to come back to yourself.

It’s breath.

It’s awareness.

It’s noticing what your body is carrying.

It’s learning how to slow down when everything in you feels rushed.

Some days yoga looks strong.

Some days it looks like resting in child’s pose.

Some days it’s simply taking one deep breath before you react.

That still counts.

You don’t have to be thin, bendy, calm, spiritual, or experienced to practice yoga.

You just have to be willing to show up as you are.

That’s the kind of yoga I teach.

Real-life yoga.

For real bodies.

For real people.

For the days when life feels heavy and you need somewhere to put it down for a little while.

Question:

What did you think yoga was before you tried it?
