Friendship and Life

We were getting our toes done when I asked Sarah what one thing friendship has taught her about life.

She’s not just someone I work with. After nearly 15 years, she’s one of my dearest friends. We’ve laughed, cried, worried, supported each other, and walked through some of life’s hardest moments together.

Sarah is honest. Sometimes blunt. Sometimes she tells me exactly what I need to hear before I’m ready to hear it. Over time, I’ve learned that this is one of the ways she loves. She pays attention. She thinks deeply. And when she cares about you, she shows up with the truth.

Yoga has taught me that balance doesn’t always mean ease. Sometimes it means staying grounded while someone challenges you, softening without losing yourself, and making room for both honesty and love.

That’s what this friendship has taught me too. Real friendship doesn’t just comfort you. It helps you grow.
